When I was 19, a friend told me about an original 409 2X4 '62 Biscayne that had been traded in a a small dealership. It was in perfect condition, and red with a red interior, but the original engine was replaced by a built 327. I bought the car, and found another 409-409 engine. I swapped it back into the '62, along with a Z11 cam, slicks and a 4:11 posi, and had an absolute ball with it!

Its a funnel that is shaped like an engine. You poor the gas in the hole on top and if you remembered to put a pale at the end of the pipes you might get some back.

Its a gas stations best friend.

The friend of mine that does the soda blasting STILL has his original, bought new in '62, 409 2x4, 4-speed, convertable!!! Still red (2nd paintjob) red interior, white top. All original but currently running a set of 18" billet wheels with actual sidewalls on the tires, NOT rubberbands... looks GOOD!!

If Oldsmobiles count, I had several cars in the '60's with 303-394's in them. None of the bodies were Olds, but we swapped Oldsmobile V8's into a few Fords and even a Rambler Station Wagon.

My first production car with a big block was a brand new tripower GTO I bought in '66.

Oh, forgot about the '51 Chrysler Hemi car I had with a fluid drive tranny. (cross between a stick shift and automatic.) I blew the clutch out after one night doing burnouts.

    ...1st a '65 Plymouth Belvedere I w/ a 383 & a Torqueflight {I think this was a big block?}. Then a '66 GTO 389 4 speed, then a '68 VW bug {was this a big block? , then a '69 Chev Nova SS w/ a 396 & M22 4 speed. I told the salesman I wanted a 427 in it & he ordered it but then said he was told he couldn't get it.... I guess he didn't know the COPO #??? Bill

For me it was a 66 vet coupe 427, 4 on the floor, had ac took it out, paid 1800 for the privilege in 68 after returning from vietnam, saved my combat pay for it.
I have two brains, one is lost and the other is out looking for it
