    Lightbulb need answers quick

I just got first dibs on a 31 ford pickup but the price seems a little high to me. This is what is included for $2400, rolling frame, fairly solid cab(will need patches in the cab corners and floor, but dont they all), 2 very solid doors but w/ no hinges, handles or glass, grill shell, window frame, fiberglass front fenders and running boards (which I wont use anyways),and a usable box ( on a scale of 1-10 the box is probably a 6 or 7), and the original flat 4 and tranny (dont know if it runs).
This will be a huge chopped a dropped project like I have never done before and Im a little nervous to spend so much on so little. I know that most of the original parts would not be used anyways and these are the basic parts I would use. Bottom line is this, are these parts worth $2400 or should I pass. Money is a little tight right now but I dont want to miss a good deal, and he is firm on the price!

You might have a lot of original type parts you won't be using and could maybe sell them to some of the restoration guys. If you think $2400 is too much, keep looking. If the pickup is exactly what you wanted to build, then jump on it. By the way, $2400 is small change compared to what it is going to cost you to complete the project.

Sounds like the only thing you'll be able to use is the cab and the box if you're building a street rod. The stock frame and running gear would need too much work for what you want to do. I would check out the various body manufacturers that make glass or steel bodies for any year and type you want. and you can even get one already chopped too. If the $2400. Is a whole lot cheaper, and you'll be doing the work your self, then you might as well go for it. You might be able to sell the parts you don't need to get some of the cost back.
