Now you see Jim why my build thread went over 200 pages. About 10 pages of car building and 199 pages of kibitzing.

Hi guys! I'm at Biketoberfest in Daytona Beach and we're "on the go", so this will be short... I finally have my home-built intake manifold finished and will be shipping it to Dick York in Indiana shortly to have the carbs and plumbing set up on it. Before I ship it, I will take a pic or two and post them here. This is a new milestone for me... As most of you know, I like to do EVERYTHING on my cars myself, But Dick has made me an offer I just can't pass up.

Pro53 - Thanks. I have built a bunch of chassis over the years, all from rectangular tubing. I wanted to do something different this time, so opted for round tubing. The frame actually was inspired by the frames in AMT's old "Double Dragster" kits from the early 60's. Yes, I still have the coupe. It's a permanent member of the family. When I croak my son will inherit it. Everything else I have is subject to change, but the coupe will be with me forever. There are some pics in my gallery; when I get back home to my big computer I'll post up a couple more recent pics.

Perley - Yeah, I've almost got everything around the house caught up so I can get serious with the roadster again and there's a cold front coming through which should make temps more pleasant to work in. Highs this coming week only in the low 80's...

Oh no, Jim is becoming a chainer.........next you'll be having Foose build the whole car for you. Nah, not our Jim.

Having fun at Daytona? One of these years I have got to make it there for something besides TR. Enjoy yourself bud.

Yeah! These old cars are dirty and frustrating. I'll just pay somebody else to do the work for me!.. (On a soon-to-be-retired school teacher's income?)

Daytona is a pretty cool place. It's biker friendly and car friendly (their economy benefits immensely from events like this) and there is plenty to do and see. This week I'm here for Biketoberfest; next week is the Dream Cruise; next month is Turkey Run...

Pro53 - As promised, here are a couple of pics of the coupe in my avatar. The last one is a pic of my coupe (Ratzass) with the car that inspired it (Katzass) which is locally famous around central Indiana. Katzass was originally built in 1956 and was the second hotrod I ever rode in (1966)...
