Nice!!! The pic gods are happy now!! I was afraid I might have to pull the the old "Y" and use it on you again!

Question: is this the final tire size or are you going larger in the back & smaller in the front?

Cool car and looks like a great setting too!!

That's what I was afraid of Randeee!
Tires are an "evolutionary" thing... I figure the back ones won't last to long and then I want to step up a size or two....

    Thanks for the compliments!

Yes, it was a pavillion, we used to rent it out for dances, receptions, company picnics, etc.... We got tired of the liability insurance and the constant code changes and drunk customers etc, etc. etc.. so we closed it down. It sat vacant for awhile and then I talked the family into letting me turn it into a shop. When I first took it over the floors still shined with all the years of being polished.

    Thanks Bobby!

    Fuel Door installation....

So, as Dave & I discussed in a previous post above, I separated the skin from the fuel door assembly then reformed it to fit the curve of my fender. I was going to just trim out the existing hole in my fender and attach the box to the underside but my hole enlarging method didn't turn out as good as I'd hoped.. so I cut out a section and inserted the hole from the kit. Here are some pics of how it turned out.....I will also be removing that old bondo and rework that part of the fender a bit...

Thanks, Mike! I think it should look pretty good when it's all done.

Now, for the bad news......My 66 F100 got whacked last night in front of my place. A guy fell asleep at 11:45pm and hit it pretty hard starting at the left rear corner all the way to the front bumper. Even bent the front rim and blew out the tire. Insurance co is supposed to tow it away today an assess the damage. They'll probably want to total it.... That's my 2nd 60's white Ford to get hit in the last 4 years.......maybe I should change colors.....

Sorry for your misfortune, your gas door turning out nice, not sure if I want to do mine, I`ve had it in and out of my mind for several years, I still like the stock cap.

Thanks, Rich! When it came right down to it I debated whether I wanted to cut the fender or not but then I remember how these modern high-speed gas pumps would always belch gas all over my fender even at a slower speed....so I went with it. My door handles are shaved too so it'll be part of that smoother look I guess.

DANG! That just sucks! I'll bet he walked away from it too! I don't know if changing colors will help! If his eyes weren't open at the time.... Did you , or, do you have another daily driver? Yeah, they'll total it and give you or offer you 5 Benjamins for it! Keep us posted.

Randy - now THAT is bad news about your DD pick up!!

BUT look at the bright side, you can spend more time working on the '37 and we wont have to keep reminding you that we need progress reports

He did walk away sorta but he had a couple of cuts on his head which turned into a concussion the next day. Turns out he's somebody I've seen at my gym occasionally. He's feels pretty crappy about it all, as he should, but I'm glad there were no serious injuries.

As for my truck, I declined their desire to tow it away to their (potentially totalled) lot. They're sending an adjuster here to look at it in the morning. Here's a link to the pics if you wanna check it out http://s1027.photobucket.com/albums/.../F100%20crash/
I'm on a couple of Ford truck forums too so sourcing parts & values shouldn't be too hard. But I'm going to leave the responsibility of fixing it up to them. I didn't crash it. I shouldn't have to fix it.

This morning I put the spare tire on so I could move it. When I got it on level ground it didn't look as bad. It would probably be cheaper to find a good used bed than to repair that quarter panel. It needs new bumpers for sure (I've been wanting a smaller chrome one on the back anyway even though that big honking bumper probably prevented more extensive damage. I think the left front axle is bent a little too since that tire is about an inch more forward in the wheel well than the other side. There are scrapes on the front fender & door. New/used fenders are pretty cheap too.

This is my only driver (the 37 isn't quite ready yet....duh! LOL!) so the repairs would need to happen fairly quickly. They've given me a rental car until things are resolved. It's a huge PITA any way you look at it though!!

Regarding the color change, I was just kidding around about some possible "white Ford karma" that's causing these little silver Jap cars to run into me. Interestingly enough, my rental car is a silver Korean suv! Look out!!
