Why would the original exhaust manifolds be better?

And Glass packs... we had some Thrush 36 inch glass packs on it when we first started it up. It sounded VERY loud when u would get on the Gas. Would u suggest Glasspacks or Flowmasters?
Or maybe if u can, glasspacks then flowmasters?
