I think that was my favorite too. That was the closest he came to starring in a movie. His band is called "The Rock Bottom Remainders" Other band members are writers Amy Tan and Dave Barry. They only do charity events because they don't need any more money. Steve built a multi million dollar hospital in Bridgeton Maine (his home town) because they saved his life after my redneck in-law hit him with the van. I call it the Bryan Smith memorial hospital. If Bryan wasn't always on drugs none of it would have happened. I saw him eat 15 valiums and wash them down with a beer. No one was suprised when he OD'd.

I just have to reply to the Stephen King question. It WAS Stephen King, wasn't it? Or maybe living here in the UFO capital of the universe has messed me up. Right, Christine? Cujo, get down!
Yep, Steven King... Did you guy ever see the episode of Quantum Leap where Sam leaped into one of Steven King's neighbors...
Bob, I remember back in my High School when a local guy shoehorned a 8-17 Blown BBC into a MG Midget... At the time my cousin was driving a Blown 71 SS Camaro... The guy pulls up next to us at the local cruise-in and asked us what we thought of his ride...
My cousin's replay was... "I think you should put a set polished brass door handles on it and a velvet interior, then they can just bury you in the SOB!"
That car was so squirly, it would switch lanes the second he hammered the peddle... That guy and my cousin later became good friends...

Al, would that be Steven King?
Bob P, No, They are in a little hamlet in Middletown NY.
Dave, that sounds like a wild one. BTW, you need to change your thinking a bit. It's no longer a BBC, it's now a BBB. According to Louis Chevrolet's nephew Streets those are referred to as BIG BLOCK BOBS. Learn somethin' new every day.:D
Man, I learn something new every time I log onto CHR... You may have notice that I did use the SOB (Son of a Bob) explative at the end of the story... :D

THe only bike for me is a jesse james bike, occ is a intresting show
to watch, until i saw the fire bike show, i know it was sentimental and all, but give me a freaking break.. the gas tank was modeling a fire truck, this is not cool as a matter of fact its kinda of gay did you see the axes and the carb. whats next the pez bike. theres no doubt the kid is the tallent, he needs to open his owne shop
and never build THEME BIKES AGAIN......
I caught bits and pieces of the show (multi episodes). I can't stand to watch it, as Dad is an a**hole. One episode i saw they were setting up the bikes for some big unveiling (daytona?) and one of htem was DOA in the truck. I loved it!!
I hear these bikes, and Jesse's go for 100k +??
The OCC bikes look absolutely uncomfortable and possibly un-controllable to ride. SOme of Jesse's get a bit far out there too, but most of his look like they COULD be ridden.
I like Jesse better!, at least he doesn't have 95% percent of the work farmed out to venders! When was the last time you seen Paul Jr fab his own fender?, or work the English wheel? That outfit is only as good as it's vendors BOTTOM LINE! Nuff said.:o
I'm not at all impressed with the work of OCC simply because they don't do much work. As stated previously all their work is farmed out. If you guys want a really cool bike that is really comfortable to ride you should check these out. http://www.bourgets.com/ Although they are "cookie cutter" bikes most of the parts are made in house by true craftsman.

I watch the show, but i don't see that Paul junior is all that talented. You watch the biker build off compitition on the discovery channel, and those guys build all the components where OCC just improves shelf items. JJ makes all or most of his parts, not that i don't appreciate the art in all they're works, it's just they're bikes are not MY style. It seems to me that discovery channel picked OCC becouse they're more TV friendly, even though they're not the most talented and proably becouse Arlen Ness wasen't interested.
whatever happened to 'Rides" featuring Chip Foose. I thought discovery channel was going to continue on that theme with other builders
thats a good comment on rideability. I've owned many hotrods and bikes, and looks don't always make a good ride, as a matter of fact i found that alot of builders would sacrifice ride for looks. Those OCC bikes sure look uncomfortable. It slays me that so many people are getting into building bikes. I guess when they can make $100 + for a bike!!, when they only put in half that. That cody bike of OCC sold for $65K, or at least that was the price tag on it on American Chopper 2. It kills me that that bike took them 7 days to build and they're going on and on that a 15 year old built it. Watch the show, Paul jr did the hard work and cody helped. Mostly just assembelled it. Big deal, my 12 year old could have did the same thing. Jessie James has a waiting list of 2 years for his bikes and he dosent build for anything less then $150k. With that kind of jing why not take these sheep. TWO BLEEPING WHEELS, where do they get off. Also don't like it when they compare these builders to rod builders, no comparison. You try to build a one off rod in 7 days, give me a break
I think that pual jr has a talent of visoining what he wants it to look like and he is also a very good fabricator but if he actually made his parts instead of modifying the ones of his shelf they said on the show "This is a Jesse James fender but we need to widen it a little bit" all they do is modify
Anyone seen the Vietnam Veterans Bike yet? Paul Sr. designed this one and I think it's the best work yet.
I'm a troll, ignore me
