Well now that Thanksgivings over I guess the next thing will be to drag the tree in and get ready for the next holiday (hoping to get at least a 2 week reprieve on the tree).

We usually have a few members that turn their talents to making presents and I was wondering what people are building this year. I didn't do much this year my sister is recovering from a hip replacement about a month ago and my younger brother had a hip replaced a couple years ago so I put together a couple of canes.

The upper one with the oak shaft is for my brother and the lower one has a Tulip Poplar (Yellow Poplar) shaft. Mom had a Tulip Poplar in the front yard that was her favorite tree so it will probably bring back memories for my sister.

My daughter has the horses and with that comes moving hay. We'd been using my dad's old hay hooks (they are at least 75 years old and I've thrown thousands and thousands of bales with those things). I decided that Missy should have her own set of hooks to I patterned a new set off of them. I wasn't able to find square stock the size I needed locally so I used round instead but they came out ok. Once she gets them her job will be to wear all the paint off them )

So what's everybody else making?
