I think "Mad Dog" has said enough is enough and the limp dicks can whine till the cows come home.
For the life of me I can't remember what the Marine Corps taught us was the maximum effective range is for a 1911, I'm thinking 50 yards or so. I fired one in Okinawa that the barrel was so worn out that I only managed to qualify Marksman. Back in the states I got one that an armorer had just gone through and qualified high Expert, 237 out of 250. As Henry Rifle said I think with my age, 74 next month, I don't think I could duplicate that.
As far as long guns I'm working towards an M1 Garand, I shot expert ,222, with one in boot camp.Ken Thomas

I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
