Does it take long for that wood to cure enuff to burn without creating creosote in the chimney or is that a problem where you are? That much firewood stacked up in this country would house lots of copperhead snakes - - - brrrrrrrrr I HATE SNAKES !
I speak from experience in case you are wondering ! brrrrrrrrrrrr.

You get a lot of creosote from pine and cedar...I don't burn either of those. Mostly oak and walnut some maple. I usualy cut one year ahead. I like to cut ,split and stack it out in the yard for a year then move it to the shed. Whats in the shed now is whats left from this past year. I may have used 3 pickups full if that, nice winter. Our furnace is only turned on if we go out of town for more than a day. This house is so well insulated that 90s out side we don't need the A/C unless it stays more than a few days. lots of trees shading the house. Our wood stove (All we use) is just about 24"x24"x30" with a fan on the back.Charlie

I have just ordered three truck loads of firewood for next winter..(which is about 25cubic metres) only pine mill slabs, but its cheap,so I dont mind too much. And,yes,I do get a build up in the chimney,so every year,I get on the roof and give the flue a rattle and knock it all out.. No probs.. No probs.. Micah 6:8

If we aren't supposed to have midnight snacks,,,WHY is there a light in the refrigerator???

I have always heard you can put a aluminum can in the fireplace when the fire is really hot and it will help remove the creosote in the chimney. I know the logs you buy to help reduce the creosote has aluminum in it. I do it whether it works or not but I only burn hard wood.

I clean out my chimney every Tuesday using a 6" nylon brush..Never get much but I had a chimney fire once long ago. I only use pine to start firesCharlie
