You get a lot of creosote from pine and cedar...I don't burn either of those. Mostly oak and walnut some maple. I usualy cut one year ahead. I like to cut ,split and stack it out in the yard for a year then move it to the shed. Whats in the shed now is whats left from this past year. I may have used 3 pickups full if that, nice winter. Our furnace is only turned on if we go out of town for more than a day. This house is so well insulated that 90s out side we don't need the A/C unless it stays more than a few days. lots of trees shading the house. Our wood stove (All we use) is just about 24"x24"x30" with a fan on the back.
