I fear that you are right once again, Shine.

To me the tragedy of Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, and Iran is not that we are there, but that our CIC has declared the battles won, the Taliban "..on it's heels", and is effectively abandoning our remaining troops in place with no support. Lara Logan, news correspondent, said it very clearly in post 1216 above, but to learn the truth about what's happening one must invest nineteen minutes to watch and listen. If we choose to abandon the fight on terrorism then we'd better find some more effective ways to secure and close our borders and buckle down for a terror war. Instead we are declaring that there is no terrorism threat remaining, opening our borders to all who want to come, and stripping our forces of what power they have had.

Sometimes one must identify the more negative candidate/team and work to eliminate that them from the picture instead of trying to find the guy who walks on water. The last one of those we had ascended some years back, as I understand.
