The current president will do the same thing in his speech. But we seem to want to overlook,our government is by design, has built in check and balances. Congress,if willing, has something to say about what will be or not too. Key question here is are we going to fall for "it all again"??. That the truth of the matter is less than 1% of a president's original ideas or policies are ever actually put in place. Our founding fathers wanted to be very sure that dictatorship wasn't going to be the kind of government we have. Now that being the case and the deadlock we are dealing with as a result, we need to try to figure out what we are going to do about it. Not these feel good horse and pony shows.Major revamping(changing) our government to the current events and economic situations we face today for a more efficient style. Your can be very sure that is coming down the pike at some point.

Question is why would Gary be so bold to quote himself??. I do think the above is important enough that I wanted to be sure it was read even after it ended up at the bottom of a page.

Our style of government is so broken beyond repair,it needs to be replaced. With what,(??) is a huge question. We can't keep saying we are the greatest,living in the past,when we are not.

and just what style of government would you suggest ?????? maybe 4 more years of socialism like we have now .

Gary!!! I have read it 3 times!! You so far have got the most realistic point!! Shine is very angry(these socialist programs have been around a long time)is it the program or the PEOPLE that ABUSE it.They have help more that hurt! I am not a bleeding heart liberal! If you look at history people are stupid!!From the beginning of time man in general needs to follow and feel protected.(that is why religion is a billion dollar industry) The government has done some good in the past!(Highways,bridges,NASA,Medical Research to name a few.(And the Baddest Armed Forces in the world). What I see with each party is to stand by your party a all cost,They are supposed to work together to fix problems but they will never give the other the chance or credit. I'm not certain our administration qualifies as socialist.

With the government bailouts of failed corporations, corrupt banks, with the president himself directing the firings/firings/administration ( of Government Motors ), fiscal theft ( taxation of the upper class IE redistribution, over 50% of the population receiving a direct government salary, I feel communist is a more accurate title.

Yeah ! it is OK to complain however the complaint needs some kind of solution or a suggested one. To stand on the corner firing both cannons blasting that America is all crap, broken and whatever says nothing. You say you drag race well if the parts you use are not getting you to the big end fast enough you change the parts, not the car.

Mitt & Paul bring forth facts and proposed fixes, so we have two choices. Kick the can down the road and more of the same and worse. Dump the employee that was hired and turned out to be a dud.

the program use to be go home to your folks and get back on your feet . now it is set on your ass , do nothing and get paid. and yes it is the programs i'm against. we cant afford them so dont wave a warm fussy blanket at me. and i really dont care which party started them. i am and always will be pro business. it is business that built this country and it is business that will correct it unless we let this wonderful government you speak of run them all off.

In 1959 when Cuba fell to the rebels many US business lost money. At the time then Vice President Richard Nixon proposed a bill in congress
to protect US companies over seas(OPIC was formed,Overseas Private Investment Corporation) Every President has supported it since(it has changed names a couple times) My Point? Goverment loves Business! Big Business!! We can lower our wages down to minimum wage and still not compete with China! Communist Government that subsidies living expenses,health care,and low pay is hard to beat economically. Our US companies are making more money world wide than ever. Am I pissed? You bet I am! it's called free enterprise . we're either a free nation or we are not. where a business chooses to manufacture is their choice. your choice is to buy or not. yes china plays dirty pool but their day is coming. my point is washington needs to do the job they were given not try to run the business world. therein lies the problem for me. if they want to pass out welfare check fine. there are your government employees . let them work for it. isn't that the point ?

You don,t think its the business world that runs the Government or at least fuels the decisions? The President is not the only one to introduce Bills and changes,every one in congress can,did any Republican come up with any to help our situation? No!Why? Because Obama would have got the credit!! everybody came from a shack somewhere . so because they choose to stay there i should be willing to support them ? dont think so. i worked 7 days a week til midnight to get my business started and we lived in a tiny 1 bedroom house and my bride waited tables at night while going to school . so that dog wont hunt here. i got no assistance from anyone anywhere. so dont ask me to pony up more taxes so you can feel better about yourself and how your helping the poor. you want to help the poor give them a job. THAT is what business does and it is the only answer. when unemployment is below 5% you get much more revenue than this stupid idea of taxing the top 1% more . but that idea does get you more welfare votes in november.
