So anyway, GM is selling out to the Chinese because that's where the best profits are and politics goes on as usual. No matter who is elected I betcha we keep playing however many gazillion dollars per flying hour that this whole Air Force One Fiasco costs us!!!!

Business leaders have at least made their companies profitable enough that they can afford a private jet, but our government leaders get it as a "perk" of the job!!!!!! Friend of mine in Chicago had to give up the corporate jet and go back to flying commercial when the economy went in the toilet---why the heck can't the dang government learn to cut back and chop off the extra fat when times get lean???

A correction on what Uncle Bob mentioned about the world's most expensive helicopter, though....When the Marines pick up the Pres at the White House, there is actually THREE of these helicopters in the air at the same time playing some silly "shell game" so that nobody knows for sure which one the Pres is on!!!! From my experience on how the military maintains their aircraft I'd venture a guess that if they have 3 helicopters in the air, it must be a fleet of at least six helicopters we're paying for to make sure that 3 of them are always airworthy!!!! BTW, these choppers are also a bunch of outdated junk that must cost a gazillion to maintain, certainly nothing that the Marines use in their current aircraft inventory!!!!! I suppose the same thing holds true on the 747's that are used as Air Force one!!!! If the government would settle for flying the President around in a Blackhawk as he's transported to a normal sized business type Lear Jet it might even set some sort of precedent for the rest of the government to look for ways to cut their expenses!!!!!

Never have figured out why the taxpayers are the one's who are supposed to make all the sacrifices when the government continues to operate like there's no end to the money!!!!!!
