Hostess goes bankrupt. Hmmm, show me a picture of the owner's house, then I'll be able to process my sympathy a little easier.

What the heck does a “picture of the owner’s house” have to do with anything?? Hostess (formerly Interstate Bakeries Corporation – traded as IBC) is the largest wholesale baker and distributor of bakery products in the United States - assets of just over $980 million. We all know “Twinkies” and “Ding-Dongs” and such but they also do Wonder Bread, Natures Pride, Dolly Madison and several others.
They emerged from bankruptcy in 2009 and will in all likelihood come out of this one as well. They certainly have some “management issues” but their biggest problem is debts owed to current and former employees under various union contracts.
Of course, I only eat apple slices, carrots and raw cauliflower for snacks!! Not!! I’ve eaten my share of Twinkies – used to love ‘em on a road trip – stay fresh for weeks. Nothing like four or five of them to stave off your hunger. Can’t remember the last time I ate one but I do remember it caused a gut bomb that rivaled two bowls of fire house chili.
I usually pop a big bowl of corn these days and have long since left off the butter and only light bit of salt.
Gettin' old changes some things
