    Nah I voted when the revised version came out, almost another year older, ya just rub it in why don`t you.......

    Yea,im in the fifties group,got a 1980 smokey &bandit t/a,540 c.i.pontiac,7f6 heads,trw pistons,850 holley,4 speed tranny for now,my goal is to put a 2.41 gear in the rear with a 6 speed,new wheels and tires,want to build a raod racer out of it,ws6 suspension from factory,figure i will up grade it,stiffen frame,would like to cruise at 160 mph all day long if i want,and i like the fact its pure pontiac ,no corprate v-8 here,keeping it true to the poncho fans out there,yall have a great day,by the way im at holden beach n.c.,and its nice here.

    Are you serious, and have you run any numbers on these drive line changes? If you're talking a Tremec 6spd I think that the final drive is 0.5 to one, so assuming a stock diameter tire, 27.5", if you run 2.41 rear gears you'd be at 1031rpm at 70mph, and at 160mph, assuming you could hold it there, would be only 2356rpm. You're just barely into the torque band at 160mph in 6th, and you'd be doing "normal" highway driving in 3rd or 4th. Sounds a bit crazy to me, but to each his own....
