I wish you well, Gary. As a heart attack survivor, I know how scarey it can be. Listen to the Drs and take care of yourself.
Keep us posted.

Yes take care your health is more important than us old farts
Take care of yourself Gary! As a h.a. survivor, I too know the fear(s) that this ordeal brings. As said already, follow your doctors directions and get plenty of rest.
Take care Gary!!!! Got to learn to take life a bit easier as the old odometer keeps clickin' off the miles!!!!
All the best Gary and a speedy recovery but please look after your self and as others say, follow the Doc's orders and no chasing the nurses around home.
I am heading back in about 1/2 hr to have the operation done.
sorry to hear that Gary.i hope things go good for you
Guys-I need a pray or two please
Hopefully by about now you're done or nearly done, Gary. Hoping everything is going well, and that your recovery is full and quick, with no limitations on activities.
Just logged on Gary and saw your post - Praying for you and the doctors - hang in there buddy!!
The very fact that you are back is one hell of an accomplishment, not to mention for the third time ....... Way to go God has blessed you.
I've been there 3 times too, I hope you are very well afterwards
I just got on and saw this. I hope all has gone well, and that you are on the mend, Gary. You are in fairly good company, or at least, plentiful: I, too, am a three timer, with eight procedures under the belt.
Looking forward to hearing some positive results............
I hope Gary is doing good and eating breakfast.
Gary, Beeb away for a few days and just saw this post. Hope everything is going well with you and my prayers are with you and your family. Bart
Good luck Gary, I could only imagine what you're going through.
Prayers heading your way.......joe
Hope all is going well for you Gary,,and you have a quick and full recovery..havent been through this myself, but did have a spot of pericardiem(sp?)trouble 16 years ago, that laid me low for a while..Got to see a couple of pretty nurses though...:cool:
First off I wanted to thanks from the bottom of my heart for all the well wishes.I am sorry couldn't get back to you all before this.I live alone and the only person I could talk to is my partner and best friend of over 40 yrs who's number I could call. These operations are not risk free so I emailed him a last will before I left.
The new stent is about 4" long opening up a blockage that was 80%.I am going to be resting up for alittle while so me being on the site might be abit blotchy.
TTYS.
Gary, glad things turn out for the better. Now just rest and get your strength so you can ride again. Bart
Rest up Gary! We'll be here when your ready!
get some rest Gary, hope you have a speedy recovery!
Good news, Gary! We'll keep you in our prayers. Rest up and take it easy for a while.
I'm glad to hear you're back with us Gary. Just take it easy, but not too easy - ya' know what I mean? It's amazing how much those procedures can take out of you, but you already knew that, I guess. I'll keep you in the list.
Thanks for keeping us posted, Gary. Take it easy and let yourself heal. As you feel better keep in touch. We're here for you buddy.

Might have to bear with me some.Arthritis in my left hand which is worst makes typing a challenge.
Man nurses have changed since the last time last time I was in the hospital.Lots of guys.Yuk!!.And fat nurses.............double Yuk.
Just think, Gary, after all these years now the ladies that have to be in the hospital are saying, "Oh my, nurses have really changed!! All of these hot guy nurses! I just love it!!" Now the heavies, probably not as many have good things to say....
Glad your procedure went OK, and hope your recovery is quick and full.
Starting to complain already You must be doing better...Hope all is going well
Gary called me a little while ago---besides the male nurses, he found out about what the rest of us watch on TV--
Male Nurses????? Sure does take a lot of the fun out of going to the hospital these days!!!! Take it easy and follow all the Doctor's recommendations, Gary! I never do, guess it's one of them do as I say, not as I do deals.....:LOL::LOL:
Gary just read your thread. Glad to hear the stent operation went o.k. Rest up and we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers too!
The insurance companies are behind the placement of more and more male and unattractive nurses in hospitals. It makes the patient want to get the h*** out of there as soon as possible, thereby saving the insurance company a lot of money. :D
Glad to see you are your usual ornery self, Gary. Good sign. Stay in touch.
Don
Gary, good to hear things went well for you..Male nurses??no thanks....You should have seen the sweetie I had about 16 years ago, while I was laid up for a few weeks..Yum...She helped me in and out of bed several times...
Anyway,,what are you doing up and about at this time??Must be early hours of the morning up there.. Aww,yeah,,get well soon mate..
Gary,
Glad to hear that you can still b&*%$h about things, must have been a successfull surgery!
Stay in the sweet spot and take care!!!
Watch out on raggin' male nurses, you'll hurt Stevie's feelings. That said, even though those guys are "just as capable as women...." I'll give you a reminder of what a better medical plan provides Gary........
Bob we call her the Staff Nurse 3 she get's a higher pay grade to wear that! :) When I first started working in my hospital on the Labor and Delivery (woman infant child unit) We had several cuties to rival Bob's posting. But if you wander off our unit to a medical surgical unit you are more likely to find one like this:

On a positive note it does give you incentive to go home! :)
If my comments offended anyone. Please excuse me.
A common mental side of heart problems is you get so used to feeling as you do,that you don't know how you should feel. Then after a stent is put in,you feel so much better you want to do too much too fast.I am a diabetic too which doesn't help much and that is still a major problem to me.I have still about a yr that I will be able to treat that with pills over a shots and then will have to review where I am.
There is one med for the heart called Plavix.Thing is they are the only game in town and can charge as much as they like.I do understand these companies have R&D costs they need to get back before a 10yr time period when their exclusive rights expire. But this can cost $200/month.Uninsured makes that very hard.I am going to apply to a program the drug company has to see if I can get relief. The same thing with the test strips for dietetics. My point to post this is I know we have a number of members who are self employed and I know how expensive health insurance is.We heard about these situations of costs all the time.I am here to tell you guys first hand how real they are.So do anything you can to get and maintain health insurance.
Looks like you are starting to feel better.........great. :)
My Dr had me on Plavix for a while but everytime I bumped myself, even slightly, I got a bruise the size of Texas. So I stopped taking it. In fact, about 4 years ago I was running low on my other meds (cadizem, lopressor and Isordil) and needed the Dr to call in a new script. They pulled the usual BS on me and said I needed to come in for a checkup first. I had been on the same meds for almost 20 years with no change so I saw no reason that they needed to see me, except they like to make the money from the visit. So I simply quit taking all the meds and haven't taken any for 4 years. Since I am still vertical this morning I guess I really didn't need all of those pills and sure didn't need to continue paying for my cardiologists golf sessions. I think that is one reason people get so mad at the medical profession.
