Sigh.
In my case I was the guy that replaced all the knobby bits.
We had a four-wheeled farm bike that I bought at a clearing sale; it gave me nothing but trouble.
After twelve months of seemingly working on the damned thing before being able to use it, I got so fed up with it I gave it to a mate to use for spare parts.
He kept it nearly ten years, used it regularly, and never laid a spanner on it.
