Don I had a boat once in the keys I picked up for 25 bucks. It litterally looked like a complete redo under leaves and such. Well after about 4 hours of cleanup, I began to wonder. 2 hours later planing at about 35 knots, I was grinning. I nursed that baby for 6 months and it never failed me. I repainted the hull and deck and spruced it up, everyone just seem to like it. At the end of my work years I sold it for 500 bucks, reluctantly to a guy nobody like who we worked with. I heard 6 weeks later it thru a rod 7 miles off shore, and stranded him, to be towed back in. I guess some of our cars and boats like certain people better than others!
