I just looked at the results. It's very typical of the sport I'm involved in. I've been flying hotair balloons for about 30 years. Whenever I go to a balloon event it's very obvious that the grey hairs are in the majority.
We had one of these before, but it apparently got dumped in the update, glad you started another as the previous one was out of date.
Not surprising, but when I looked at it before posting there were 70 views but only 18 votes! C'mon guys, push a button and log your position!!
I know some of it has to do with raising a family and as time has gone by and the kids are on their own (so to speak) it is easier to do something for your self and in some cases splurge. "Life is not getting any longer and if I am going to do it, better do it now". I know I have said it before but I am supported in the hobby by my wife so it makes it easier. I hope the numbers that are reported in the younger age group are what I am describing or the hobby may have a rough time in the future. But then again less than 30% of the viewers have responded.
go turquoius group.
I pushed the 60s:eek: button but feel like I should be pushing the 20s button:rolleyes::LOL: If only my body felt like I was in my 20s.:(
Jack.
its sad to say it when your in your20's but you can barely dothe work because you have back problems like someone older damn borken vertebraes
In my mid sixties find that I don't get up off the floor like I used to while working on my projects.I think I am smarter, but more conservative in the mod's I do.But in the same hand, find I want to build a project that just casts all that away as just a toy and go wild.Like a in line two seater street RED.
in my teens 20's and 30's
i was too busy partying and chasing skirts to even think of building a car.
sad but true.
aah my misspent (and really fun) youth!
Early 60's but mentally I'm still a young man at heart. Just wish I had another 60= years to keep it up.
19chevy54-pu
70 and still at it. (barely):whacked:
Middle 50's....How did that happen!!
Be 67 this month right after Christmas and I am not slowing down
Console yourself with the thought that a misspent youth is a thing of joy forever.
My (then prospective) father-in-law told me once that I was 'nothing but a drunken slob'.
She still married me.
And I'm still 'nothing but a drunken slob'.
I just carried on misspending...and will 'til I die.
I'm now in my mid-sixties, and enjoying being above ground.

Hmmmm...........on the previous thread that had run for a few years we only had Jim (Big Tracks) as our sole, living member in the 70 group............now we've got a dozen, good on you guys!
66 today
feel like 18 unless I look in the mirror
hank
Roger,
Yeah, there were plenty of those morning afters back then. Now days the drinks put me to sleep long before anything bad happens.:HMMM::rolleyes::LOL:
Jack.
wont let me vote?
I heard a closing speach at a rod run over here that hit the nail on the head. The price of building a rod these days is very expensive for someone in my age group, im 27. Over here compliance is expensive enough without even considering hardware and labour costs.im lucky my boss had the 48, as well as many other cars, lying there doing nothing and gave me a good deal, and the fact that i can save money by building my own chassis-which is the SOLE reason i did a sheetmetal trade-love metal work in general anyway.
The hot rods we all play with were the toys of the older, or should i say earlier?!;) and well respected (in my opinion) generation of rodders that are still doin it strong today. Will guys form my generation still be messing with jap imports in 60+ years?
Been born and bred into hot rodding and wouldnt have it any other way!
me too cant vote. 51 in body only. Wife says I act 12 sometimes!
I'm 66 and feel like a 20 year old, but unfortunately she slapped my face and won't have anything to do with me. :o:D
Don
My wife keeps asking me when will I grow up and quit playing with cars, ( when I`m 6 feet under I guess)
63 and still a teenager... inside. {:-)
Regarding the comment about taking a shop class so you can work on your car... I got hooked on the hobby, but thought that's all it would be. The passion that drove me took over, and I started working for others... (that was 49 years ago)... eventually ditching all of my other trades, to do what I loved. No regrets at all about that choice!
I think it was the Moody Blues who sang... "Just what you want to be... you'll be in the end." :-)
i am 50yrs young and still trying to get into the 10sec et`s!! in between a bueatifull wife of 29yrs and two lovely daughters to keep me going **)
not sure why but i can't seem to get the thing to load up to vote... never mind when highlighting the poll it says that it's closed
I couldn't vote either.
Life begins at Fifty (53)
I will be the first on the poll to say I am in my 20's. 24 to be exact. Not sure why the poll won't let me choose anything though...
Nevermind on the first to be in the 20's. That was Teens that shows 0% sorry.
I still haven't figured the poll out. :)
i'll be 71 in jan.2012. hope 2012 to get my 47 ford tudor back on the road and then i can concentrate on my 36 olds 2door sedan. Here's hoping that everyone had a great xmas and will have a great new years. May god bless/keep all our service people thru out the land.
I'm on the slippery slide down to the 60 at 56 years and just had my hair (ponytail) cut-off and all of a sudden I have gone from blonde to grey..... what a shock....
Be it me but is it closed on voting ?
