aah my misspent (and really fun) youth!
Console yourself with the thought that a misspent youth is a thing of joy forever.

My (then prospective) father-in-law told me once that I was 'nothing but a drunken slob'.

    She still married me.

And I'm still 'nothing but a drunken slob'.

I just carried on misspending...and will 'til I die.

I'm now in my mid-sixties, and enjoying being above ground.

Hmmmm...........on the previous thread that had run for a few years we only had Jim (Big Tracks) as our sole, living member in the 70 group............now we've got a dozen, good on you guys!

69 last month. Doesn't make any difference if I look in the mirror or not!

    wont let me vote?

I heard a closing speach at a rod run over here that hit the nail on the head. The price of building a rod these days is very expensive for someone in my age group, im 27. Over here compliance is expensive enough without even considering hardware and labour costs.im lucky my boss had the 48, as well as many other cars, lying there doing nothing and gave me a good deal, and the fact that i can save money by building my own chassis-which is the SOLE reason i did a sheetmetal trade-love metal work in general anyway.

The hot rods we all play with were the toys of the older, or should i say earlier?! and well respected (in my opinion) generation of rodders that are still doin it strong today. Will guys form my generation still be messing with jap imports in 60+ years?

Been born and bred into hot rodding and wouldnt have it any other way!

I'm 66 and feel like a 20 year old, but unfortunately she slapped my face and won't have anything to do with me.

    63 and still a teenager... inside. {:-)

Regarding the comment about taking a shop class so you can work on your car... I got hooked on the hobby, but thought that's all it would be. The passion that drove me took over, and I started working for others... (that was 49 years ago)... eventually ditching all of my other trades, to do what I loved. No regrets at all about that choice!

I think it was the Moody Blues who sang... "Just what you want to be... you'll be in the end." :-)
