Definately an off the wall subject, but kinda interesting. Ive got possoms like crazy around my house lately. And big... they are like two feet long not including the tail! I work til 6 pm mon thru friday, so when I get off theres not alot of daylight. When I was tryin to get my truck runnin the other night, I heard a long hissing sound behind me... turned around and there was a big as* possom with its mouth open like five feet from me. I jumped up on the core support in a half a second Ive got possoms like crazy around my house lately. And big... they are like two feet long not including the tail! Whats crazy is I dont live out in the boonies, I live right in the middle of amarillo about 250 yrds from I 40. I dont know... Will have to go out an see if I can find a presentable road kill for you... Or see if I can find you one of our nasties..Depending on where they are in the country, some are almost black, while others have a regular grey coat.. Possums are just scary looking rodents! I hate running across one at night. I hate running across one at night.

We have racoons at our shop. Every night when I feed the stray cats 3 big racoons also show up to eat. At first I would scare them away because I thought they were chasing the cats away from their food, but then I noticed the cats will eat right beside them out of the same dish, so I just put out some extra now.

Tonight one came right up to me when I was feeding the cats, he isn't afraid of humans at all, and doesn't seem to be mean either. I guess they have lived with the cats so long they think they are just one of them.

Here's a younger one that comes up on the deck and I put food out for him every evening.
 His name is "Fluffball"
There's a family of about 3 that hang around here.
The hiss is just a "bluff".
 Ever heard of playing "Possum"?
They are harmless and have a face that only a Mother can love.
