We see it all the time around us, Parents who let their kids get away with anything and think it is cute. I can take it for so long, then it gets the best of me and I have to say something. One time I was helping a customer who had his little Daughter with him, and she was tearing up the store. He was acting as if nothing was wrong. Finally, I said to him "Buddy, I feel sorry for you." He asked why, and I told him " If you have no control over her at this age you have no hope when she gets to be 16." He grabbed her by the hand and left the store, but someone had to tell this "Father" that he was doing a horrible job of teaching her right from wrong.

The biggest mistake I see Parents make is telling their kids to do one thing but doing just the opposite themselves. You can't tell your kids not to drink and drive or do drugs if you do it yourself........kids are smart and don't miss a trick. Both Parents also have to show a united stand when it comes to disciplining. If Dad says one thing and Mom disagrees in front of the kids, they will get mixed messages and feel they can use the weaker Parent to their advantage.

Raising good kids isn't Rocket Science, but you have to love them enough to sometimes tell them no, and to teach them life has rules and responsibilities. You need to teach them respect for others and manners from the very start.
