RS, didn't think you were, just didn't know if I had been a little vague...lol. As for the other comments...you are all right, our judicial system lets most car thieves off with a slap on the hand....and it is big business. Gang members stealing them for gang initiations or there are asian gangs that steal hondas for the airbags and other parts.....it should be dealt with as serious as other violent crimes...but our courts look at it as a property crime and as such doesn't warrant that serious of a punishment because "nobody got hurt"...our system irritates me to no end, but it is still the best in the world. Although we could add some punishments like caning...lol, or go back to wild west days and treat car thieves like horse thieves....

I mentioned that in post#5 to this thread although I think the liberal segment in our society would find that too severe as they are more in to rehabilitation.

Don't know if you guys remember the taser club that was out a few years ago. I believe it is illegal too now(was discontinued for poor sales), but it was basically a club that attached to your steering wheel with the usual lock mechanism, only this one was remote activated with a taser charge in it. I figure anything that can potentially harm criminals has to be made illegal, because all the politicials might get shocked otherwise!

locks are for keeping honest people honest and will not really stop a pro car thief. your opts are limited.i use a homemade device which locks the brakes and prevents the clutch from being disengaged.plus i always get a ground floor room where i can park my cars outside the room i;m staying at. good luck guys
Guns are great, if you plan to sleep in your car... Think I'd prefer some good theft deterrents to at least slow down the ametuers! IMO, the problem is with the judicial system, seems auto theft is little more then a misdemeanor!

Wherever there is a huge get together of Hot Rods I would imagine the theives are there too. Dang shame it's got to the point that going to one of the big shows requires sleeping in shifts and having someone awake to gaurd the cars...

I've at times thought about a canister of tear gas or pepper spray that was activated thru an alarm system when the car was started without the alarm deactivated. My buddy Rick takes his 90 pound Shephard with him when he takes the car out for an overnight---"Cupcake" really likes to sleep in the car... Would be fun to sit back and watch someone open the door on his car!!! Also like the Lojack idea, but I understand it's coverage area is limited???

This is a listing of Lojack's current coverage area - in short, it sucks big time...http://www.lojack.com/dealer/pages/index.aspx
