How many active CHR members from Washington/Oregon State do we have here? Just wondering thinking it would be fun to know... Greg
I'm over here, across the sound just outside of Bremerton/Silverdale.
Depends on what "active" means, but by my view I'd say somewhere 6-8. But there are many more registered who pipe up from time to time.
Hey Guys and the odd Girl, Can you all help us that have never had the pleasure of visiting the great USA. Can somebody give me a breakdown on all the abbreviation of the states eg. I think WA is Washington and TX is Texas but most of the others I am developing a bald spot from all the head scatching...:confused::confused: Also I know I am only running on 5 cylinders out of 8 at times but some of those abbreviations that people use is not helping my hair line either, eg BTW, by the way, and there is few more that leave me puzzled....:(**):whacked::HMMM: HELP PLEASE....
you know .. i dont even know them all myself . and i live here .. AL . i think is alabama ..

Thanks for that Glenn and here I believed that there was only 50 states in America.... Now all we need is a dictionary for all the abbreviations that some use.... FYI ..... For your Information..... right???:LOL::LOL:
Forgot to say....doesn't the young generation with their TEXT messaging leave us oldies scatching to understand their new text talk....
Jack here checking in.
Just occurred to me, what do people think of a NW get together sometime this summer? Or maybe a garage crawl.:toocool:
HMMM, if the garage crawl comes to life I have a lot of cleaning up to do.
Jack.
Greg,
Just checking in from Shelton, Wa. Although I've only spent a couple of weeks here so far this year, Arizona was nice and warm.:3dSMILE:
Good idea jack!!
Larry M.
Well Greg, it actually SUCKS big time. :) More rain so far since we've been back than I have seen in the past 4 months down south but what the heck, its home..... Its really hard to beat the weather and activities we had in Yuma, even hit a few car shows there.
Larry M.
Greg,
I'm for it of course and it sounds like Larry is too. Let's see how many others chime in.
Jack.
I hear ya Larry... even being a Washington native myself I sometimes can't get past the rain!!! My wife and I have been looking at a place in Surprise, AZ at a place called Sun Village which is a very nice 55 and better community. We really like it down there and we have family and friends there as well so we'll see. I'm already real estate poor up here with 3 places so I dunno if I wanna go with 4 but sometimes you just need to get outta the rain!
All I know is even with all the rain, when it's nice, sunny and warm here there's no place more beautiful!
BTW... thanks for posting the pic's with the sunshine! That helped a little! :toocool:
Well.........if pictures do it for ya (especially if cars do more for you than shuffleboard[sorry Larry]:D)......here's the bride and I in the middle of April, a nice little Cars and Coffee gathering on a Saturday morning. As the palm trees in the background might imply, we're NOT in Washington.
Bob, that's sweet. Didn't spend much time with shuffleboard tho but sure did in the pool.:3dSMILE: Hey, sorry we couldn't hook up in Vegas, again!! Was only there a short time because of our extended time spent down in Lake Havasu. I had to be back in Orange County, Ca. then catch up with my sister and her hubby before they took off for vacation.
We did go to the huge Midnight At The Oasis cruise and car show, great time there but if ya can believe it,,,,, the thing got RAINED OUT,,, I repeat,,,, RAINED OUT on Sunday!!
But, this sounds like a cool idea for all of us here in soggy ol' Wa. to get together When ya coming back here?
Larry M
Yeah Robin, there are times when the overcast and rain get to be a bit......well, much. Some years are better than others, then there are summers when the toy cars don't see much good weather. One of the costs of a northern, marine envirionment. That's part of why we have the other place (and car) in the desert.
When it seems too tiresome something will happen to remind why the beauty of this northern area is so appealing. Here's a couple shots taken out my office window a couple days ago. Mom, dad, and sibling had gone by before I got the camera out and turned on, but got the tail end charlie.
Neat pix Bob,you dont see that in ya back yard every day of the week,[actually, never,in mine]Kool roadster too...Weather is something that you cant do much about..some summers are better than others, last winter was a real cold one that lasted several weeks longer than I wanted it to...this one isnt to bad so far,its only just started..:D but Mount Egmont is getting a nice little white cap on it now.Hey,I chose to move down here from Auckland,I am still going grey, but much slower now..:LOL:Its easier to warm up than cool down..
Yep... nice yard pic's Bob! I have something similar with my home/property here in Everett but have only had deer 1 but also had a cougar about 10 years ago!
I will try for Saturday. What time window are we talking?
Jack.
littlerock checken' in**)
Later:cool:
Another guy from Shelton Wa here.
Norm
Wow...
So far I am counting 9 WA CHR members with a couple more Oreeegon guys close by! We could have quite a nice lil' get together I would say! :toocool:
Greg
BTW... do a little sun dance for some of my buddies that are down at Bremerton Raceway trying to get some track time this weekend! I was hoping to be there as well but I couldn't get away from work and I've been told I have a wedding to go to tomorrow...
Does North ID count? I'm originally from the Yakima area, but have severed ties with the Queendom of WA.
Hi guys from the Beautiful state of Washington.. I spent last night in Goggle Earth travelling down highway, Heck I forgotten, I think 101, from Seattle detour via Maple Valley down the road ,hooked a left onto highway 38 and cruised around tto rejoin 101 at another place cruising south.... Man what beautiful landscape and all the historic bridges and buildings, those amazing reedwood trees etc. heck I would love to actually drive that route in a rod,it would take me weeks just to be able to stop and take everything in.. And the weather wouldn't put a damper on the trip either...
Don,
I hear you, The Mrs and I are seriously looking at the Boise area when she retires next year, (our daughter and her new hubby live in Middleton). There is serious talk about Wa. State instead of raising the gas tax to tax each vehicle for miles driven. How are they going to determine how many miles were driven in state and driven out of state?
Whiplash,
There is some beautiful country in this area of the Northwest. The native Redwoods however are mainly in Northern Ca. with some maybe living in Oregon. The Redwood looking trees in Wa. are Cedar and just as beautiful.:) Just thought you would like to know.
Jack.
Well I know of 2 of us here in the Portland Or, area , my self and Glen Sexton, but Washington is just across the river,, a get together would be nice...
Thanks for that Jack. As I said I spent tooo many hours last night cruzin the highways and byways between Seattle in the north down to S Fresco Ca. and when I wrote about the redwoods I think I was on the west coast road. There was pictures of where one could drive thru the hollowed out base of this giant redwood etc. The history and this may sound extremely different, I have always had a fascination for old bridges, and my, you people have some of the most beautiful covered and old style bridges I have ever seen. As I mention with the latest Goggle Earth it is almost like being there. What originally got me into this side line was I followed a group of New York rodders who did a road trip from New York to Bakesfield to compete at speedweek, so I followed along on Goggle Earth without the risk of a speeding ticket..:D I am envious of the fact that you guys have such excellent rodding events that attracted so many people and cars.
