I'm with Tech.
This morning I sat down with my bowl of Cheerios to compose a response to your thread suggesting the early DOHC Ford and saw that Richard had gotten there first, and he stated his reasons far better than I could have.
I have owned two Crown Victorias with 4.6's (but not DOHC's) and have been very impressed with the power and economy the engines provided, even while hauling around a big barge like a Crown Vic. The DOHC is a beautiful engine to look at. To my way of thinking it would be a fine choice for your project.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd get this:

To illustrate what Tech and Big Tracks have said, GEOFFAV showed some pics of the 4.6 going into his 33 coupe in http://www.clubhotrod.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41900 Here's one:

The 4.6 is a great engine, capable of lots of horse power. It seems to be the new trick setup for some of the kit cars rolling out these days. It's also nice to put a Ford in a Ford! Like Tech said you probably could get one via a donor car with a tranny and wiring harness ready to pilage! The 350/350 combo is tried and true, dependable and powerfull, and a lot cheaper to play with, but as you said they are everywhere, and if you want something more unique the 4.6 may be the ticket! or at least get you some tickets....

Here's a polished one!

wow...thanks for all the input guys...i just made it back to the states after a 32 hour trip door to door...dead on my feet now...will for sure be looking at the 4.6...Tech are you saying that you would rather have this engine than the 427 cammer..."Behold, what manner of love the father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called sons of God." 1John3:1

I check in everyday and some are better than others. I don't think Brent has anything to do with the forum anymore, but I'm not sure. Hopefully as time moves on the forum will get better.
Where is everybody?
