Maybe guys like bill gates can compare, but look at guys like George Vanderbilt, biltmore estate is still the biggest house in america, plus one of his little hobbies was buying land, the small parcel he owned around biltmore turned out to be the entire part of western North Carolina. I think the vanderbuilts, the rockafellers, George Hurst, possibly the Kennedy`s were way more rich than most today.
