    Just got some good news

My wife just called me and said our daughter, husband and kids are moving back to the US from England. The UK cost of living finally caught up with them so they will be moving back to San Antonio and her husband will be going back to work at the same Texas forensics lab but in a much better job then he left 4-5 years ago. Phew!! ' Bout time!!!

Congratulations Dave! It's always nice to have the kids closer to Home (the Wife can spoil those Grandkids easier!)

    Thanks Craig and Richard
At least it's not an overnight flight to Texas from Upstate NY.It's about 2K miles closer. Now maybe the two GC will grow up with a US accent not British . Another good reason is that their oldest, Sean, has a learning disability and quite frankly, will probably get better help. The youngest, Mia - too smart for her own good. Now, all TEN of our GC will be in the US.

Hi Dave, I am so happy for you and your wife. Now you grand children will be able to see you more and be here in the USA. What a blessing it is thaat your daughter's husband even winds up with a much better job too. Now those kids will get a chance to go for a ride in grandpa's hotrod roadster too! Thanks for posting my updated pictures for me.

It must be tough for Parents to have their Kids spread out in faraway places, I'm so happy yours are coming closer to you. Like you said, 2000 miles is one thing, an ocean is another thing altogether.

    Good to hear........

10? I thought I was lucky with 5! I keep kidding my Wife that the oldest Grandson (who is 7) will want his Corvette soon-the problem is that she agrees with me!

From kidney pie to chicken fried steak may be more cultural shock than a person can take all at once.lol, better have them stop off in N.Y. for a spell and get some catch up hugging on those young'uns.
It must be good to have them in the same country again.

Thanks all for the good words. I think this will be an interesting Christmas this year - especially if all 4 of our kids, three spouses, and 10 GC show up at the same time. We own a fairly big house. but that many might make the walls swell - and that's OK too. And am looking forward to the mayhem

I'm happy for you and your family. Distance just makes it so hard! Now the grand kids will be Hot Rodders!

I'm glad for you. When ours are too far away, so's we have to get on an airplane, or drive more than a few hundred miles to see them, we get real edgy . We also have a very large extended family on our oldest son's side; on holidays, if everyone is in the mood, we'll have a real house full, at least twenty; have to put a lot of them up in hotels, but during the day - yikes ; seven to fourteen under twelve years, depending on who is around. When they all go home, we just veg for a few days, the cats come back out of hiding, the dogs go into hibernation, and everything sort of settles back into its groove. We still love every minute of it, no matter how noisy it gets.
