I notice they didn't interview Tony after the race...sure would of liked to hear his opinion of the tire Goodyear had for the race!!!! Heck, I think the new tires on my pickup would have worked better then the junk they brought!!!!!

The track surface is for 1350 pound Indy cars, ya'd think them Goodyear engineers could have come up with something that went more the 10 laps, heck a set of Gatorbacks would have been better.... Well, I betcha today was really full of laughs at Hoosier Tire!!!!!!
I've seen 10-12 lap heats but only the hobby stock heats had more then 12-15 cars. Forty two cars in a heat plus Waltrip makes for wad up potential

Hoosier is trying to break that Goodyear stranglehold but NA$CAR says no way can they do that - kickbacks anyone, maybe. ARCA doesn't seem to have that tire problem with their Hoosiers - anywhere but Goodyear and about every third race seems to boil down to their tires!!

I think Tony is being quiet with his public utterances lately with his new 'association' and needing to be a good boy for a while - at least until he can get his act together for next year.

If they address the tire issue, it will be with what happened when they let Hoosier supply tires along with Goodyear.....tires didn't last and races had too many yellow laps...... Kind of like Sunday, I think!!!! Dang shame when one company can dictate the turnout of a race....Could that be called a monopoly, or maybe refusing to offer other companies a chance to show their tire quality in a race????? No, NASCAR would never do that, would they????????

It's like a track decreed tire.

Even the NHRA TF and funny cars have to run Goodyears. You're right - it is a monopoly - and they are a problem there as well

I've gotten to the point that I wont even consider Goodyears on any car that I own. The last were on my past (new) 2 p/ups. They got so hard that the painted road centerline, if it was wet, was like ice. Then they were noisy beyond belief. I have Continentals on my present F350 - and at 47K still seem to be good
