Thread: May lose a good friend tonight.

I know this has nothing to do with cars, but I know there are a lot of pet lovers on here, some who have lost them, so I hope no one minds me posting this.

I just gave Scooter her night dose of medicine, and I don't think she is going to make it through the night. I called the Vet and talked it over with him, and it probably won't so any good to take her to them, she is just too old and her time is up. She is totally unresponsive right now, and I think her systems are just shutting down. I've made the decision to just let her pass peacefully, as she seems to be in no pain at all.

Obviously, I am not having a good day right now and am pretty broken up. I've been dreading this day for a long time, she has been with me for about 15 years, and is like a Kid to me. She looks intimidating because of her size, but doesn't have a mean bone in her body. I used to get a kick out of her when I lived with my Ex-Girl friend, who owns a Shitsu. Scooter would lay in the middle of the hallway and block it so the dog couldn't get by. He would be jumping around all nervous because she would bat him when he tried to get past. She is declawed, so it was only a half hearted swat, and I think they both enjoyed the game.

I'm pretty upset over this, but at least I don't think I will have to make the decision to have her put to sleep.........that is a terrible decision to have to make. She also enjoyed her life right up until two days ago, and would steal my chair at the shop as soon as I got up. I'm going to miss her a lot. Sniffy will too, they have been together for the whole 15 years.
