If you blink there will always be one faster. Next up the Koenigsegg CCXR. A very shapely carbon fiber car with a twin supercharged 4.8 liter V8 producing 999hp, 2.9 seconds to 62 mph, 254 top speed on E85 fuel, all for a meer $2.4 million greenbacks. And, oh, for as little as an additional $17,000 you can get a set of magnesium carbon fiber wheels to go with it.

Unfortunately I'm not wealthy. If I were I might be hanging out on the Ferrari forum instead of here. But after watching much of the Le Mans race (about 12 of the 24 hours), the Corvette team did exceptionally well and would have won their class and beat the Aston Martins if it were not for brake caliper problems that cost them repair time. Considering that the basic Vette is about $62k before adding the go fast goodies, it really is a helluva buy.

    Dear itoldyouso:

I'll be the first to tell you i'm bullheaded and very oppinionated. But oppinions are just that, oppinions. Everyone has one and everyone stands by theirs. I like American steel and not much else. I don't think my car is anybetter than anyone elses. I happen to think i'm quite humble, but maybe I think i'm hot sh*t because of that. You're right, I can't afford to buy a high dollar car like a Ferrari or Lambo, and i'm sorry I called them ugly. Maybe my car is a status symbol too, but if it is it puts me low on the totem poll.

Ken I love all kinds of cars. My heart belongs to the old muscle cars but I get a huge thrill out of anything that is pust together well. The foreign cars that you can see great engineering are at the top of my list.

Well if your into die hard American products.....this will make you proud. Looks like Shelby has bumped Buggati. She's fast and beautiful....and Ameriican. This is what I would take if someone dropped a few dollars in my bank account. She takes the crown for now.

There isn't’t a kid in the world when you say Ferraris Testarossa, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, plus other high-end cars that wouldn’t go nuts just to take a ride in one let alone own one. These are not the average cars for the majority of the public. Who as a kid wouldn’t want a brand new 57 Chevy Convertible but these cars are not in that class. I was sold when I saw James, Bond driving the Aston Martin in Gold Finger, the car, and Pussy, Galore what a combination!!!!

Every kid would love to have a Grandfather with such nice cars, I could imagine show and tell day at school. Your wife is a pretty women and for her to be into what you are is great.

Let me tell you what I saw on T.V. if this doesn’t want too make a person in this Country try to do their best nothing will. A kid growing up in Mexico from a poor family scaled a 20 foot high fence, picked tomatoes in the fields, work until he could go to college, he became the best brain surgeon in this Country if not the World. Should that guy feel guilty if he wants a high dollar car, I would say he has earned it.

I mentioned Chip, Foose he builds nice cars but he mostly uses drive trains from production cars G.M. and Chrysler from what I’ve seen and you can buy one of the high end cars for less then half what he builds his cars for. The one million 36 Ford coupe was nice but it didn’t have to be hand built at least for me if I had the money.

You work hard in this Country and if you have the money spend it on what you want.
Bill, Gates said he is not leaving his money to his kids; good point let them earn it. I’m sure he will provide for them to get an education but they have to work.

If the Mexican kid picking tomatoes went on to be a brain surgeon enough said.
I'm sorry, I didn't respond to this earlier. Thank you for all the nice comments. I didn't even realize what the gallery is Thanks Bob!
After all my hard work all these years I am finnally able to work only 1/2 days (12 hours). Great story about the kid!!
I do have a few pictures of the car if you would like to see them I will be happy to E mail them to you. People are probbly sick of them hear, not evry one seems to like them.

I have the best of both worlds. My son who lives in New Orleans and is in the roofing supply business is a sports car nut.He started out with Corvettes and moved up to Jaguar,Ferrari and the last one was a Porsche 911 Carrera. He relies on me to sell them once he gets tired of them.He brings them up and leaves them with me until they are sold.I usually take my good old time selling them and drive the heck out of them.I just sold the Porsche and am dilligently waiting on the next whatever to come my way.He spends and loses more money on cars than any one I have ever met.

With that said I would rather take the coupe out for a ride ,I get a lot more looks with it than with the Sports Cars.

I don't know what happened after he left the nest as we restored a 63 Chev.SS Impala while he was in high school and a Javelin Coupe.
