Actually,I've never heard of realigning a johnson rod without first pulling the finnegan pin,and recalibrating the thermodroxel to 107 degrees F ambient. Perhaps your way is simpler,but with mine it's rozzer to slip a cracker the dropsy in snide. Hope this helps, Hank
