Street rod fuel ain't the problem because they get limited use. But the daily driver needs 3 fill ups each week just to get to work and back. That's were the hurt is.
Bob how far do you drive each day? Three tank fulls......ouch!
One Hundred miles (100) roundtrip daily, 5 days each week for work. Then shopping on the weekend (got to go to keep the wife in check)
Overall about 550 to 600 miles per week in my daily driver (AWD Subaru). Then on weekends, if I'm lucky I get to take out my old cars with the thirsty appetities (one at 8 mpg and the other at 10 mpg - both on a diet of premium fuels).
Bob thats horrendous! I bet your idea of relaxation has nothing to do with a drivers seat!
Wotinhel happened to a Sube's gas mileage. I've had 2, tho not AWD but 4WD and one a turbo. They both were well into the 30's for mpg. I would guess that making them a heavy pseudo luxury car didn't help:eek:Quote:

Thats a good one! At least I don't drive 600 miles a week. If I did I would need a second job to pay the gas!:HMMM:

Between BP and Shell I'm starting to get little special offers that read "for our best customers"...   That's not an honor I ever wanted.
But there is relief in sight. I can reduce my mileage and time in the car by half, by driving to the light rail station and taking the light rail train to work. I go right past it daily, but have never used it before because it's much slower than by car (about 1 hr for an otherwise 30 min. drive). But due to my employment I can ride FREE, so I'm thinking that now is the time to make the switch. Less gas, less wear and tear on the car, plus lower insurance. Sounds like a plan to me.
It’s hard to believe that gas prices have gotten to this point. My wife filled up this morning at $3.69 plus the .9 why don't they just call it $3.70. Just two days ago it was $3.45 .9
I gave our gasman a credit card check this morning for $2,482.32 for 1200 gallons of propane. I have two companies’ tanks sitting on our property trying to get the best deal. Now if the other company wants to keep their tank here they will have to give me a good deal. 1200 gallons will not get us through the winter and we can't get a good lock in price so we have to put the money in the tanks over the summer so we can try to make it through the winter with out paying higher prices. Who knows where it will go from here I'm sure it will not go down. If I only lived in the sunshine state, I could be like the hippies and sleep in the park.
