I guess the 4 banger wouldn't surprise me, but what did surprise me was the weight.... the articles sez the weight is around 4,000 pounds!!!! Whatever happened to lightened components and composites??? Easiest way to improve performance and efficiency is to lighten the car... Heck, my '82 only weighed 3200 and change with a V-8!!!! A two ton car with a low torque 4 cylinder wouldn't be too exciting....

As for the Stingray, be surprised if it happens. With sales as poor as they are with all the American (alleged) manufacturers, I doubt there is a lot of R&D money laying around to start up a new line with an all new body....
