I just got a first look at the new Pontiac Soltice Targa Coupe. It looks to be one very nice car. It was introduce in Detroit in 2002 along with the Soltice roadster, but the roadster got the nod to build. I personally like the looks of the coupe much more. Has the lines of a fine Italian design. Base engine is a 173hp I4, but a 260hp I4 will also be available, and yes it will be rear wheel drive.

The article also says that Saturn will not get the coupe, but there may be a slim hope for Chevy. Unfortunately pricing is expected to be about $29K. There are others in that price range that may be even more fun, just not a GM.

The same mag also said that Cadillac was in the process of dumping their Northstar V8. Future Caddies will only have a V-6.
