Were you needing the crankouts for your 37? I've already done some cutting.

Man I love the Alamosa area. I spent a couple of weeks roaming the mountains (Jeepin). If I didnt dislike the cold and the snow....I'd definitely live there now!

    FLH,

Are you needing the crank out assembly and frame/hinges? I haven't made my final decision on whether to keep mine just yet. Will know soon though. If I don't use mine...you can have it. Just need cost of shipping. You might remind me in middle of April as I'll probably forget. My head is just swimming with 'data' in my new job. My wife is about to 'skin' me. I can't remember a thing since taking the job. LOL's.

The Be-Bops front fenders worked out great for me! If their 37 fenders are as good as my 36 I would definitly go with them. They don't advertise theyre rears correctly though. I'd let you have my factory fenders but they wont do you any good being a 36. Are there any other odd parts you need? Like interior gauges, knobs, steering wheel? I have a few things I could let go of. I wish I could find a 36 cab top. Just the top. I want to invert it to make a roll pan for the rear of the truck. Like this one.

Decided to see if the bugger would fit.....

Well....I'm on call....been sitting around all day waiting to get called and finally said heck with it. I decided to get that big lump of alluminum in the truck. I've been wondering if I'd have fitment issues and wondering if I would have issues with the alternator/a/c compressor fitting on thier stock locations. Finally!!!
I think I've gotten luck. She fits perfectly without any issues so far. The A/C and alternator can stay where they are and I'll still have room for removal if something goes wrong with one of them. I think I'll have to go with the block hugger headers though. Really wish I could have ran equal length but I think clearance may be an issue. I should be able to retain the Corvette mounts (that Stu Cool suggested) and still be able to slip the steering shaft by it.....just barely.

I am tickled with the fit!!

Can anyone supply me with an inside picture of what they did to perty up the inner (heavy wall) radiator support? I thought about making a one piece surround. Just can't decide. I've been digging through everyones pics but having trouble finding a straight on shot of the radiator from the inside. Uncle Bob? Dave? Anyone?

    And finally....the radiator

    Thanks,
    Dave

Got a few more things started....

I've decided a couple of changes were needed. One.....decided to put the factory rake back in the grill shell to free up more space. Modified the radiator support again . Dropped the engine 1.5 inches and raised the transmission .5 inches to give a perfect level on the transmission oil pan. Mocked up the C4 IRS. Going to have to shorten it at least 4.5 inches on each side. Progress seems real slow right now....but hey...I'm still tickled to be doing this!

    Figured I'd add some progress....

    Got a little more done....

Went with a LS1 out of a WS6. Enter the fuel injection world, I will!

Finally got the last of the parts needed to complete the front end. 16 weeks later. Everything went good on the install after getting everything needed. I say kudo's to Tom and his crew at Street Rod Engineering. While I did have trouble with the drivers side spindle, they did take care of the customer and fix the problem!

The front fenders from Be-Bops get a 9 out of 10 for fit, finish, and thickness. I'm quite happy with the front fenders. The rear fenders and running boards. Thats another matter. They advertise them as 2 inches wider....but they're actually 1 inch wider so they wont work with my tires. I hope they take them back. They havent answered my email. Still have to call them. We'll see.

I had to modify the inner radiator structure, allowing it to clear the rack unit. I moved the entire radiator assembly forward about an inch at the bottom and angled it back about an inch. Hope to move cab forward to suck up empty space after installing the engine. That way I can trim the engine skirts for the new angle. Does anyone know someone on here that can make me a one piece hood if I make a wood buck for a pattern?

    All for now.

Everything looks like it's falling into place quite well.... As for as the do-overs, heck it's just part of the process!!!! Remember, if you don't have the time to do it right, when are you going to find the time to do it over???? I think it's easier to keep at it and get as much of the build right as you can the first time. Sure hate to get them done and have to second guess myself.....

I really dont mind the do-overs. Its definitely part of the fun. I agree on doing it right. Like the cooling fan.....was going to ditch the Mark 8 in favor of an aftermarket so I wouldnt have to change the firewall....but I figured since I was going to have to change the firewall anyway....it was time well spent trying to make room for the 4000+ CFM factory unit. I'll admit...they aren't as perty as the aftermarkets but I dont want 'possible' cooling issues later. Now If I can just figure out the C4 IRS. LOL's. I subscribed to a couple other forums today that has a lot of information related to what I'm using. Lateral-G's and Pro-touring seems to have a lot of information about the IRS. I'll share what I figure out with everyone here. The best part of all of this.....I love learning new things....it helps cut the bordom. I have to narrow the batwing on the back of the IRS. I think it may be made out of 6010 alluminum so a good local welder with a tig should be able to help me out. I can't stress enough to everone on here.....thanks for all of the help. I will pay it forward. My son is already benifiting from all of this. He is glued to this site...pouring through everyone's builds. Thanks folks!

    36 chevy fenders

Hey guys, any one out there with some good 36 chevy fenders that they don't need? I just ran into a 36 chevy low cab fresh out of the barn, and the front fenders are beat up pretty bad and also the back ones. I would like to find a nice set of steel fenders rather than bang these out, I sure hope the freight bill doesn't kill a good deal on a set,

    Your '36 is looking good!
I just sold 3 front fenders for a '36 pick up, actually the complete front end & running boards. When I shipped the fenders, they cost $134.00 to ship one fender, but it also cost $134.00 to ship 2 fenders straped together back to back. It goes by size, and they figure up to 150lbs for the size of the fender. I used Fed-X
