Figured I'd add some progress....
Got a little more done....
Went with a LS1 out of a WS6. Enter the fuel injection world, I will!

Finally got the last of the parts needed to complete the front end. 16 weeks later. :D Everything went good on the install after getting everything needed. I say kudo's to Tom and his crew at Street Rod Engineering. While I did have trouble with the drivers side spindle, they did take care of the customer and fix the problem!

The front fenders from Be-Bops get a 9 out of 10 for fit, finish, and thickness. I'm quite happy with the front fenders. The rear fenders and running boards. Thats another matter. They advertise them as 2 inches wider....but they're actually 1 inch wider so they wont work with my tires. I hope they take them back. They havent answered my email. Still have to call them. We'll see.
I had to modify the inner radiator structure, allowing it to clear the rack unit. I moved the entire radiator assembly forward about an inch at the bottom and angled it back about an inch. Hope to move cab forward to suck up empty space after installing the engine. That way I can trim the engine skirts for the new angle. Does anyone know someone on here that can make me a one piece hood if I make a wood buck for a pattern?
All for now.
Dave
Decided to see if the bugger would fit.....
Well....I'm on call....been sitting around all day waiting to get called and finally said heck with it. I decided to get that big lump of alluminum in the truck. I've been wondering if I'd have fitment issues and wondering if I would have issues with the alternator/a/c compressor fitting on thier stock locations. Finally!!!
I think I've gotten luck. She fits perfectly without any issues so far. The A/C and alternator can stay where they are and I'll still have room for removal if something goes wrong with one of them. I think I'll have to go with the block hugger headers though. Really wish I could have ran equal length but I think clearance may be an issue. I should be able to retain the Corvette mounts (that Stu Cool suggested) and still be able to slip the steering shaft by it.....just barely.
I am tickled with the fit!!
Can anyone supply me with an inside picture of what they did to perty up the inner (heavy wall) radiator support? I thought about making a one piece surround. Just can't decide. I've been digging through everyones pics but having trouble finding a straight on shot of the radiator from the inside. Uncle Bob? Dave? Anyone?
