i have seen alot of cars over the years, but i have never seen or heard of this. does anyone know if this is real or a fake? the picture says photo by, and modifications by- makes me think he modded in about 10 extra engines.

Fake. Crankshaft geometry is not aligned and no room for coupling between the engines. Besides if by magic it could really be done, who in the world would put 12,000 pounds of engines on a light frame and expect it to perform let alone feed that many engines with a very little fuel tank or no tank at all.

Looks a lot like Eddie Hill's ol' twin Pontiac.........................with a serious stutter.

its for sure fake thanks for the eddie hill pics to verify. ive learned over the years if you give a guy enough money, he will spend it on any stupid idea he can muster, its not murphys law, its mans law. face it guys we are crazy that way. thanks for the answers guys.

And who would be stupid enough to sit behind that many engines . One or two was dangerous enough.

The "Double Dragon" car.

I remember the car as having dual slicks, if it's the same car. He brought it to the Nats in Indy in '61 and tore up the the starting line in the right lane.

That's the one! That was the year before I started going, but a friend was there and told me they had to shut the race down and repair the track.

The car was later stretched. I'll try to find a picture for our younger members.

And another view;

They flew a 'copter in to repair the ruts the car made in the lane. One of the weirdest things I ever saw happen at a drag strip.

May of '62, two years before Garlits set official fuel record over 200................

The most engines I've seen (outside of pull tractors and Bonneville cars) is Ivo's Showboat, and I think there was a four engined Mustang funny car.
