The only hope for that is about ten grand worth of metal working tools, and a year of full time labor.
It would be cool to see it saved, but if he spent $5K on a good starter car, that year of time would produce a lot more results..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.
