This project makes me smile, and you did what looks to be a super job. I smile because I went thru a "Baja Bug and Manx style" period in the late '70s partnering with a buddy. If I recall we churned thru 5 or 6 of them. We'd build one, then someone would make a crazy good offer and we'd sell and do another.
My affair with VW air cooleds started in high school with a '56 Bug with Okrasa kit.....fun to surprise the stock bugs running around. Had type II's and did a Beck 550 around '80. The hardware is just such great, sound, basic automotive bones that can be worked in so many ways.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.
I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
