While belts are helpful, they won't stop your head from hitting the steering wheel. I put a 3-point harness in my car, with two shoulder straps.
In the early 90's my brother was nearly killed in a roll-over accident with his newly completed steel '33. The cruise control malfunctioned and went to wide open throttle. My brother hit the brakes instead of turning the ignition key off and the result was a spin and roll over into the ditch. He was thrown out (no seat belts or safety pins on the suicide doors). He's got a titanium rod running most of the length of his right femur.
He had his wife and kids in the car, too. The wife had facial fractures, but the kids were not hurt.Last edited by daveS53; 08-05-2017 at 09:44 AM.

Yes it will be a face plant into the wheel, it shouldn't hurt my looks much though
I'll bet your brother was sick about the 33 yet thankful everybody made it alive. I've only been in one roll over and it wasn't nearly as bad as your brothers, I just got a few cuts. Mine was also a freshly done project, an 84 Dodge and I think I had it out for the 3rd time and the rear tires hydroplaned on a black top road and I went sideways and caught the ditch, round and round I went. That was on a Sunday, I was going to get new tires put on Monday. Here is the only pick I have of it, b/f it was finished of course. I started on the 53 right after the Dodge.
