Sympathies mate; but isn't that part of the 'experience' of driving a rod?
Cars that are temperamental, don't always function properly, have draughts, leaks, and rattles to fix?
If they drove like a modern car where would be the fun?
With your considerable skills I'm sure you'll get the bugs ironed out.johnboy

Some mistakes are too much fun to be made only once.
I don't know everything about anything, and I don't know anything about lots of things.
'47 Ford sedan. 350 -- 350, Jaguar irs + ifs.
'49 Morris Minor. Datsun 1500cc, 5sp manual, Marina front axle, Nissan rear axle.
'51 Ford school bus. Chev 400 ci Vortec 5 sp manual + Gearvendors 2sp, 2000 Chev lwb dually chassis and axles.
'64 A.C. Cobra replica. Ford 429, C6 auto, Torana ifs, Jaguar irs.

I agree to a point. For me spending almost 30K on a car it shouldn't come with a bad trans. Little things I would (and did) expect. I'll get it ironed out for sure but just feel I was lied to by the previous owner. I suppose that's what I get for not going out there and looking at it first hand. It would have been a 22 hour round trip and the wife talked me out of it. That will never happen again.
