Roger, As I told you on the phone, after body is mounted just weld up the holes not used. C&D are used for stpck foot firewall A&B who knows, po could have put them there B4 he painted chassis.
Re: Tranny, talk to your guy about a 200R4 ( same size as a 350 externally) or just use the 350 with the right gear in the rear.
Built many with 350/350 a 2:79 rear gear and a 32"tall rear tire that got well over 20mpg runnin stout SBC'sWhen I get to where I was goin, I forgot why I went there>
