Thanks man, its just a typical linear actuator I got off of ebay that is 2 inch stroke with 225 pounds of force.

Its not fancy at all. I got the idea from my wifes car its has a electric parking brake. I like it because it cleans up my cab. No it does not need electricity to stay on but it does to pull and release the actuator. But the car will not drive away with a stalled battery so I don't see the problem with a electric vs manual ebrake. In the event the actuator ever fails in the on position simply remove the cotter pin that connects the actuator to the ebrakes.

Thanks man. Its just a typical heavy duty 2" stroke 225 pound Linear actuators. I just measure every that so that it engages the brakes right when the actuator limit turns off the power (stops pulling) You can also purchase them where you can set the limit of the stroke.

Cool. I always revert back to my teens of a manual transmission and a couple of friends push starting the mustang with a dead battery, popping clutch and riding on alternator to get home!
