Randy, check post #13 - 55/58 Chevy truck build
Bam, the handle of the slapper appears to be hefty. Did you weld several layers of plate together and then sand to the contour you wanted?Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Yes I did have it for clearance, It worked great that way for reaching around that big fender, but I bent it down like a normal handle once the fender was done. The reason I made it is because I bought a Martin slapper that was too light weight. You are not suppose to pound on sheetmetal to get it to move, just light glancing blows should suffice. I found with that martin slapper I was expending way too much effort, so I made that one and it worked great.
By the way thanks guys I love talking this car stuff.Last edited by BAM55; 03-13-2014 at 11:00 AM.

No my friend you are awesome, I'm just trying to get to your level. You do amazing work, simply amazing.
Its in this thread post 13 and thanks for the comment on the green. It kind of makes me nervous because I'm very conservative when it comes to color but the truck needed a color that popped a bit more in my opinion. I was going burnt orange but man if you go to shows lately blues, orange, red, are everywhere and I want to be different.lolMy Chevy Truck Project
Another question, I was told this engine takes 6 quarts of oil. Is that correct? It's a remanufactured 350 with stock pan.
