Hey, I thought that seat looked familiar, I used to own an '89 GMC. I would have thought it was too wide for the '57 cab. Thanks for the tip, it's got to be more comfortable than the original, looks like I may go junkyard hunting for one.Quote:

Thanks, man, the good thing is most people who don’t know about these trucks won’t even notice the difference. I showed my brother who has had these trucks over the years and he didn’t notice. I asked him what’s different? and he said something is I just don’t know right now.lol
Plus I never wanted to be like everybody else. In my opinion if you’re going to modify cars then they should be done to your personal taste so that when people see it they know it’s your ride.Quote:

Looks great! You have more guts than I do, if I would have tried that I would had to throw away two hoods.

Not really anything to post but I got the doors and hood painted and I currently blocking the bed trying to get it ready for paint. I have to install windows, its getting there slowly but surely.

Got the seat back.
Here is a before pic and you can see the marks made on the seat of the changes I wanted made. I also had the seat back cut down about an inch so that is not stick up when you look through the big back window (its a pet peeve of mine).

Here are some pics of the work I've done to the bed. I completely welded the bed and added a inner panel to smooth everything out.
I installed tubs and did a little metal fab to make a smooth transition to the angle strips.

Well I been covered in dust lately but the blocking sessions is going great. This is what it looks like after the first blocking session and second coat of primer. I think I only have one more blocking of the complete bed in and out if I use a sealer, the panels will dictate that.

I decided to make my own bed wood because I don’t care for how busy the fleetside kits are with all those boards. I like the simplicity of how it looks with wider boards, so I talked to a couple of buddies of mine who done this years ago and they told me they had no issues going with wider board and their beds floors looks as good now as it did when they done it.

Man you have been busy! Every thing is looking great, the seat, the paint, the bed, really awesome work. Sucks you had to repaint, I've had a couple paint jobs go bad, shit happens when you are a do it yourselfer. I had a v8 s10 that I painted and the clear went dull and I sanded and polished but there was no saving it, had to repaint.
You're almost there.
Looking great Bam. I'm interested in the air filter enclosure you made. Any chance you could post more photos and details about it? I'm building a similar project, a '57 p/u with LT1 power and the air filter is nearly in the same position as your LS engine.
