How is the multi-carb manifold coming along Mr Bat, Dana ? I suppose with the repair of the engine the inlet has been put to one side. The group photo of your friends looks good and now you guys are into your summer months, there will be more events to attend.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Got the intake head plates from my buddy Mike, very nice, much neater then if I'd made them. So move along on this. Tack welded log to plates an then tack added carb plates to be sure they all line up,jigged them with some clamps{ don't want carbs all williynilly.
Work out some linkage too

Looking good Dana, bet you are pleased to be making progress on the inlet now. You should be doing the swap on your engine real soon.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Made a shiny little bracket to hold my homemade fuelrail in place
I'll do a bit more polishing on my rail, its stainless steel box tube. Went to Ace Hardware to gets some stainless steel{SS} locknuts, bolts and SS 5/16 Acorns n lockwashers, after polishing these up they be ready to give 4x2 set up some extra bling later.

Manifold and fuel rail brings a smile to my face. Nice work.
I know those "air cleaners" look all hot-roddy and stuff, but the motor will need more filter area to prevent drawing a vacuum at full throttle rpm's. Plus, I don't think there is any filter media in there, just wire screen. I could be wrong on that, but anyway, a well-engineered large rectangular filter housing could be fabricated. Here, for instance, is a 17 x 12 K&N that would look good with a fabricated housing....

If this one doesn't exactly fit the "eyeball" you're looking for, give K&N a call. I'm sure there is one that would have the dimensions that would work well and present good eyeball.

Good to see your car with the wheelchair on the back too Dana and I bet Mrs The Bat enjoys out cruising on your nice warm evenings. I do like the roof line on your car too and I know that you did a thread on how to make them that I have kept for late reference.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

“……I know those "air cleaners" look all hot-roddy and stuff, but the motor will need more filter area to prevent drawing a vacuum at full throttle rpm's……”
A few years ago I did a write-up on building Tri-Power carbs and like Richard advocated against using the small air cleaners due to their restrictive nature. I had found this out the hard way using these air cleaners on a 383 I put a tri-power setup (progressive linkage) on many years ago. The Tri-Power had worked great on a 307 it had previously been on but air cleaners proved just too restrictive on the larger engine…... the small filter did OK until about 50 MPH but above that (until the end carbs opened) it acted more like a choke than a filter.
That being said, I think there is a good chance the air cleaners will be fine on this particular set up. This is a relatively small displacement engine so the amount or air it requires will be relatively low. More importantly as these carbs will be synchronized rather than progressive the air that is going into the engine will be split between 4 filters rather than being forced thru one as it would be with progressive linkage.
By the way I really like the way your intake is turning out.
.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

Does the bottom edge of the manifold plates interfere with the valley cover much?
What are you using for ignition? Vacume advance ported ?
Years ago I played with some log style manifolds with runner dividers-after several lengths for the ports and various ways and means of connecting to common areas of the logs---------put a dual quad 406 in it!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the T bird valve covers-seem to remember they were $12 back in late 50/early 60s

Fun watching the progress! Also like the comments. Knew of a guy with a two Beer keg functioning setup in the bed of his pickup. Taps and all. Not sure how he cooled them or how he avoids getting a ticket for open containers! Crazy! With DUI's and potential disaster can't think of a single reason why someone would do that, except for camping in one spot for a while!"
