Had an electrical issue where truck started great, drove fine but lost power under excelleration. Turns out if battery is running low, by use accellerator, it dropped the battery just enough to starve the computer of power. New battery, ran great until same thing, after that new alternator fixed the problem, probably not your issue but worth keeping in the back of your head .

I'm guessing it's something simple. (hopefully) This engine is mechanical and I checked the fuel shut off solenoid to make sure it is pulling all the way up. It is/was. I'm going to check for boost leaks tonight. The way I have the afc set up, the injection pump won't start fueling hard until the afc foot gets moved allowing the governor to pull the rack in the injection pump to move the plungers to meter more fuel to the injectors. The afc needs to get 25-30psi to do this. So, if it has a boost leak, this could be the issue. I don't hear a severe boost leak, but that's a place I'm going to look to.

Aneroid fuel control. It controls the pre-boost fueling on the governor of the injection pump. The smoke controlling device basically.

I did get lucky, and it was the afc line. The top fitting was on but the bottom fitting had came off. I put it back on and tightened it back up and it's good to go.

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! We did and it has been super busy.

Today I dropped the 7.3 off at a machine shop and the guy is very hopeful and thinks he can get it out without having to disassemble the engine. I really hope so.

Thanks for the info. I'm glad for you that it was an easy fix.
Our Christmas was great, we had 22 family members stuffed into this little 1400 sq ft house. LOL.. there were people everywhere!
Just had an e-mail from Roger Spears and he was about the same, all the family was over and they had a great day.

I'll keep a good thought on the broken fastener, sounds like they've done'em before so your headache will soon be gone. 8-)

No word on the broken fastener yet but that's okay. I've got other stuff to finish up. The exhaust is going on the 99 Dodge and I'm going to be bringing a project of my own home this weekend. My brother got my Dad a smoker for Christmas but it was missing grates. Dad was going to buy them online but the only thing he can find close to it's sizes were going to be $200 before shipping. I told him that was nuts. I sent him to the metal shop and he got 52' the first time. I've used all that up and I'll finish them up when the rest of the metal gets in.

I finally had time to get over and finish the barn door job on my mom's horse barn. There's still some stuff to finish up on the inside of the doors. My main concern was getting the tin all back on the barn and reattached. Of course, naturally it rained for 3/4s of the day yesterday when I did it. At least it was 35* until the wind started blowing.

I used the 72 to haul the 40 home last night. I had to have my mom follow me because I still haven't hooked up my trailer wiring..........

Looks good, I like those galvanized barns. We fixed up an old feed shed into a garden shed for my mom a few years ago. It's nice to do different things one in a while.

Last fall we tore down a rather large lean to and that is where the metal for the doors came from. I'm going to use more of it and replace the cheap fiber board on the front of it. This old bard only had sliding doors on it when we moved here. Most of them were rotten and junk. This building was supposed to be our shop when I was growing up. Dad never poured the concrete and mom won the conflict and it became the horse barn. It would have made a nice shop. Oh well, it has made a really nice horse barn. I can't complain too much. We used to store square bales in the other end but now they feed round bales so there is an open end and I get to use that for storage. That's where the vette is resting now.

What's with the rock piles (on either side of the doors) if I can ask?

About 5-6 years ago there were some varmints getting into the barn. Digging under the walls to get in. First it was a skunk, then a badger, then ground hogs. We ripped a side walk out by mom and dad's house so dad wanted the broken remains put along the sides and back of the barn. There have been no more issues since. I'm wanting to remove it all and add a lean too on this side so the horses have another venue to get out of the wind. In due time I guess.

There aren't anymore hay bales in the barn. When I parked my 40 in there about 5 years ago, I didn't check the back seat. Someone had left an almost new box of little Debbie oat meal cookies in there. Luckily those mice ate all those and didn't feast on the interior. After that I spent all summer de micing that barn. I saw a few green droppings in the vette the last time I stored it there but that was it. Last year I had it in a building in the town I live in but I decided to take it back to the barn to save money. Luckily there is no interior in the vette if they do get in there. But I have dryer sheets, and an open bottle of vanilla extract in there. That usually keeps them away. Let's hope. Haha

I'm sure glad I built this crane. I have used it quite a bit. This spring I plan to build a steel one. I might make it 4 posts with wheels on it. That way it can be moved easier and should be able to lift heavier/longer objects safer. This one is a stretch on a full suburban body. You can see it in the back round. Eventually I have to pick the dark green one back up to roll a frame under it. If my brother doesn't do something with it, I'm going to have to do it so I can sell it and get the rest of my money out of it. In a couple weeks I have rented a skid loader and I'm going to load up as much as my scrap as I can. I'm tired of waiting for the prices to go up and tired of looking at it. So after I haul it in the prices will go up.
