Thanks Charlie! I did get a free brownie ala mode at the steak house so that was quite nice.

I finally got the GM steering arm swapped on the LH knuckle. I relieved some of the fins on the diff cover because the tie rod bar was hitting it and not allowing full steering lock to lock. It's much better now. I have roughly a month to get a laundry list of stuff done on it so it can be taken to Power Tour. I'm planning on taking my 95 F350 since I told my brother and his wife they could take this.

The old truck got put right to work. I hauled 2 loads of junk/garbage in to the land fill, and took another load of stuff out of the garage trying to clean up and make room.

I'd still like it to be the 40 but I doubt it will be ready for it. There's still so much to do and 29 days isn't much at 2hrs per day if I'm lucky. Now, if I had 29 vacation days and an open checking account, it would be ready. I'm still shooting for July to have it drive able.

Two hours?? C'mon, you're a young guy!! Home from work, grab some dinner, play with the kids and get them in bed by 8pm (or maybe Mama gives them baths...) out to flog the '40 till 1:30 or 2am, maybe sneaking in for a greasy good night kiss for the kiddos and Mama. Five to six quality hours a night, 29 nights.....

I remember those days, wouldn't even think about quitting before midnight, now I'm done at 9:00.

I'm still working on it and not calling it off. Maybe it'll make it but IDK. There's some progress in the thread.

Just pullin' your chain, Ryan. At least you've got choices about what to take!!

I used to do eight hours in the plant, plus 45 minutes commute each way, then head into the shop till the wee hours. That was during the week: double shifts on the week ends.

Not now. Even if I was so inclined, my back can't hardly stand eight hours of honest work.

2nd shift is what made the bars profitable until the early AM closing hours--------

I think first shift is the worst.
The morning traffic is horrific, and you can't get anything done unless you take time off.
Also, morning people are chronically unhappy. Second and third shift people come in with a smile, but not morning people.

I used to work first and I never got sleep. I'd always stay up too long working on stuff and get to bed too late. Then at 5am it was a fight to stay up. My youngest brother is on first now and trying to get off it. It seems once they put you there, they never want to move you because they rarely find anyone who will work those hours. I've been on 2nd for almost 12 years at this job. I won't get to days until the other guy retires. And if someone bids in with more seniority, I'm stuck on 2nd. Roger, you're right. We have no over night help. But day shift does start at 4am and goes until 12:30.
