Going to be a fun car to mess with the boys in!!!!! Shakedown drives always lead to adjustments and tweaks, but it sure is fun to have a project moving under it's own power for the first time!!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Several years ago myself and one of my employees were replacing a heat pump in the ceiling of a doctor's office. It was about 3am and we were both half dazed from the late hours. Our heat pumps were 480 volt but the replacement they had sent was 208 volt. Of course neither of us bothered to check the tag when we hooked it up. I was on a ladder and turned on the disconnect to check it. The transformer didnt seem to particularly like the extra 272 volts and went off like a 12 gauge. I went backwards off the ladder, crashed on the desk, and hit the floor. Once I figured out i was ok and we hadn't destroyed anything; it was pretty funny. I owned up to my stupidity at the next days shop meeting and wrote "Beware of the Kaboom" on the board. So every time I start up some new equipment or take a project down the road for the first time, I still have the words "Beware of the Kaboom" going through my head.

Cool story (considering you didn't get hurt to bad!) But yeah, when you least expect it Mr. Murphy grabs ya by the short hair!

This is just not my week to get a test drive in; I got new rubber all the way around, got the clutch fixed and was ready to head down the road but it's been raining ever since and supposed to stay that way until Wednesday. Bummer; but on the other hand we could sure use the rain. So in the meantime I started cleaning up and painting hood hinges and parts so I can put the hood back on. I did pull it out of the garage; did a quick 2 or 3 second burnout, and pulled it back in so I could get a taste.

You bet...Finally, a trip down the street accomplished!!! I need to bleed the brakes some more but it felt pretty darn good to have it move under its own power!

I hope it was un-insured. That always makes the test drive more interesting.
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

All of the above; no plates, insurance, hood, air cleaner, and spongy brakes. It was fabulous.

It would be nice if this up and down crap would cease.
