    Got me another tinker project

After selling my '55 Chevy earlier this year, I got the urge to get another project
to look at, pet and tinker on. I kinda wanted an older PU this time and I found
and bought this 1956 GMC big window short bed. The truck is now mine but it's
still in Minnesota at a friends shop and hopefully I'll be able to get here down here
to Texas soon. Here is a video and the latest pics.

Awesome purchase and those babies are becoming popular down here too. Drop it into the weeds, a V8 and 5 speed gearbox will sort it nicely.
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Mella,,you kept that quiet..nice looking truck, and as Whiplash says,,they are getting popular down here,,almost belly button status..and,yes,Glenn beat me to it.. Pat needs to put a big block in it before it heads south.. Just keep that kool old 6,cos someone can build a roadster around it..

Immediate plans are to drive it and find out what needs tweeking or replacing and then I want to stay 50's Sixer old school with multi-carbs (maybe even a single 2bbl), split exhaust manifold (or headers), Mallory ignition (thanks Dave) and finally tranny and rearend change (maybe?) I will do something to the stance also but not in the near future unless I can't stand to look at it that way any longer - - LOL

Yuppers!!! You should be sure to take a couple altitude sickness pills before you attempt to drive anything sitting that high in the air, for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cool truck Mello. I like those old straight 6's too. The 1950's trucks have such a beefy look to them, and nice big cab and engine spaces that make working on them so nice.

Looks like a fun truck to just putter around in. Doesn't look like it will need much updating.
